SEKHUKHUNE – The hard working and dedicated Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe was promoted to the rank of colonel in Polokwane. Born at Taueatswala, a village next to Steilloop, Ngoepe joined the police service in 1985 and was promoted through the ranks until he became an officer in 1990, with the rank of lieutenant.
A trained detective and communication practitioner, Ngoepe often performs tasks as if there is no tomorrow.
True to his calling, first as a police officer and also as a detective, this member of the force has successfully secured a number of life sentences in various crimes that he investigated.
This was done during the 10-year period he spent as a detective.
The experience he acquired dealing with case dockets as an investigating officer made him an astute communicator who fully understands and knows what to relay and what journalists from different media houses need.
Provincial commissioner, Lt Gen Nneke Ledwaba appreciated the dedication and loyalty Ngoepe had consistently shown.
“This new rank should not make you think that you have arrived at your destination. You must instead be propelled to do more in serving the people of South Africa in general and Limpopo in particular,” said Ledwaba.
Ngoepe is currently the section head of the media centre in the province, one of the sections attached to SAPS corporate communications and liaison.
