Seokodineng soccer tournament unleashes hidden talents

Koketso Mampa was one of the best player at the tourney

A recent Denny soccer tourney unearthed footballing talent in the Tubatse area. The tournament included 16 teams from Seokodibeng, Moroke, Mampa and neighbouring villages. The final pitted Ditlou FC against Seokodibeng Real Rovers FC. Ditlou defeated Rovers by 1-0.

Organiser of the tournament, Denny Phasha told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that lots of future soccer stars were spotted during the games. “We honoured a few players who excelled during the tournament. The player of the tournament, Koketso Mampa was awarded a trophy, as was the leading goalscorer, Mhlongo Makgopa.”

Phasha said the 16 teams displayed an attacking brand of football. “This proved Tubatse has got talent. We just need to nurture these boys and ensure they play in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) in the upcoming years.”
