BREAKING: SAPS confiscate thousands of counterfeit goods

LYDENBURG – Local police in cooperation with Badfontein K9 security has made a huge bust on possible counterfeit goods.

According to Capt. Kaizer Moela, SAPS spokesperson, they received a tip-off at 09:00-this morning about a truck off-loading suspicious bags in the Badfontein area.

“While we were following up, we received more information which indicated that the bags are now being loaded onto another truck which was heading towards Mbombela. Badfontein K9 security managed to pull over the truck near the off-ramp and Lt Col Samson Sibiya and other members proceeded to arrest three suspects.”

The truck loaded with counterfeit goods, which include thousands of pairs of Nike shoes, was transported back to Lydenburg SAPS. Moela said that officers are still waiting to determine whether the goods are indeed counterfeit and if so, the estimated street value of the items.
