A terrible car accident left people scattered on the ground. 

12 km Outside of Burgersfort on the R37, a vehicle crashed into a cement pipeline and flipped the car into a fence-pole. According to the driver, he saw something in the road and swerved out to avoid hitting it, with the tar being wet from recent rain, he claims he lost control of the vehicle. The object that he swerved out for was later identified as a palm leaf.

Among the passengers was a 6 month pregnant woman who was complaining of severe pain. Two other women suffered minor neck and back injuries. The vehicle also hit another woman that was walking next to the road. She was fortunate to only have a cut on her leg.

The driver of the vehicle admitted to bystanders on scene that he has been drinking, and that he picked them up as passengers. All the injured were transported to hospital.
