BREAKING: Hope lost for power over festive season

LYDENBURG – Hope has been lost to ensure that the Eskom issue will be resolved over the festive season.

The three business chambers of Lydenburg, Sabie and Graskop has issued a statement in which it confirmed that its Constitutional Court apllication has failed.

“The matter was previously thrown out of the High Court due to a technicality. As far as I am aware,
the Judge did not rule on the merits of the case. Consequently, the attorneys approached the
Constitutional Court with an urgent appeal on November 6.
The Constitutional Court has now ruled that our case is “not in the interests of justice” and that we therefore have to
go back to the High Court. What the Court means by this is that in their opinion, we need to further
follow due process in the High Court before we can resort to the Constitutional Court for relief,” Gwilym Reese of the chambers said in a statement.
