BURGERSFORT – In a quest to beef up the SAPS in the Burgersfort cluster, commander Maj Gen Masipa Maepa promoted deserving members.

Six colonels were promoted to servein both Burgersfort and Tubatse SAPS last Wednesday.

“These men and women are most experienced, diligent and au fait with police duties and have served faithfully, diligently and with loyalty. They have dedicated their lives to serving the police department and their country. I am certain they will continue to be an invaluable asset to the SAPS and South Africa as a whole,” said Maepa.

“Officers, continue working with the same zeal, diligence and valour with which you have served the police department and the communities in your previous ranks, and endeavour to improve the current image of the police,” he advised them.

Maepa said the appointments are aimed both at keeping the men and women in blue motivated and meeting the capacity challenges as they continue the fight against crime. Those promoted to colonel included Mahlathini Ngele, Duduzile Ledwaba, Elias Zwane and Solomon Phetla.
