Lowveld air show postponed due to bad weather.

MBOMBELA – Unfortunately, due to severe weather changes, the Kishugu Lowveld Air Show has been postponed. The show which was supposed to take place on May 12 and 13, has been postponed to June 16. An urgent meeting was held by the air show committee on May 11, due to weather forecasts of unusual patterns that will occur over the weekend.
Committee members explored all options and the chairman of the committee, Johan Heine, stated that although it is a major disappointment for the event to be postponed, they must take the safety of their pilots and participants into consideration. He stated that although the weather is the one thing they depend on, it is also the one thing that they cannot control.
All of this is due to a combination of cold fronts coming from the Cape, and that offshore flow sucks moist and cold air out of the upper levels of the north, according to assistant air show director, Trevor Wilson.
Those who have already bought tickets can rest assured that they will be valid for June 16. Ticket sales are still open.
