Protest action outside TCM

LYDENBURG – Disgruntled member of the community took to the streets early this morning calling for the disbandment of Thaba Chweu Municipality’s (TCM) administration and council.

Community members said that they are fed up with poor service delivery from TCM. Protesters are also unhappy about the possible disconnection of bulk electricity supply by Eskom. They gathered outside the municipality under strict police attendance.

Two split groups formed. One group is protesting against former councillors using the community for their own benefit, while the other are protesting the bad service at TCM.

The municipal manager and communications department for TCM could not be reached for comment, but will be awarded an opportunity to respond to the uproar.
