Food stolen from rural school

The food stashed in the bush.

BURGERSFORT – Learners from Dikotope Secondary School at Ga-Motodi Village are not sure where their next lunch will come from, as their school was recently burgled. The suspects stole maize meal, tinned fish, milk, and soup.It is alleged that a gang gained access to the school, and broke into a storeroom where the food, that was intended to feed the underprivileged children, was stored.According to the Tubatse SAPS, the matter is under investigation but no arrests have been made. The police have asked locals to help them apprehend the suspects.”Those with information regarding the theft can contact our station on 013-216-8500,” said Const Sello Movundlela. He said buying stolen items should be strongly condemned by the public. “The community needs to work with us and report anyone who is seen selling stolen goods. It looks like the school is a target for thieves. In February last year three men were arrested for stealing food at the same school. Some was found by pupils in a nearby bush.”
