An avalanche of shops to be opened in town

Boxer Superstore will be opening in Steelpoort.

STEELPOORT – With the recent opening of the all-new Pick n Pay branch in the CBD, community members can rest assured knowing that the developments in the town are slowly but surely nearing completion.Steelburger/Lydenburg News caught up with the management of Goldbroz Investment recently, to update residents on the rejuvenation currently happening in town. Ms Ansie Viljoen said that big-name stores will open their doors during April.”We are expecting Boxer Superstores, Ackermans, Galitos and Rage to open in a couple of months,” she said.”The developments in Steelpoort will not only see improvements to the town, but it will also benefit locals. All these stores will be hiring locally. Also, there are people who are hired by companies involved with the revamping. Entrepreneurs have also benefited immensely, as business opportunities have been created. The development has also seen several youths acquiring skills in paving, installation of pipelines, and other trades,” said Viljoen.

The director of Goldbroz Investment, Mr Nicholas Shapley, said they aspire to develop the town in an efficient manner.

“We will be upgrading the centre with the aim of allowing people to stop by and shop around. The town will be more accessible and convenient.”

Bus and taxi commuters will also gain from the developments. The town planners aim to build a bus-parking area as well as a taxi rank.

Sewerage improvements are also planned.
