Pupils’ teeth get some love and affection

Dr Eric Matlakala examines Mpho Mohlabane's teeth.

BURGERSFORT – Children from Calvin College’s preparatory school received free education on how to take care of their teeth when they visited the local dentist, Dr Eric Matlakala on August 18 and 19.

Matlakala ensured that they understood the importance of preserving healthy teeth from a young age. The kids then had their teeth examined, free of charge.

What was interesting and informative was when the young ones had opportunities to ask the dentist some questions regarding their teeth.

“After realising that our pupils’ teeth looked unhygienic, we decided to talk to Matlakala, who did not hesitate to help. He is such a compassionate person,” said grade one teacher, Ms Ida Esser.

“I check the condition of these children’s teeth free of charge, because I love kids. I showed them around my surgery, so they see how a dentist works,” said Matlakala.

“I love working with kids, they bring the best out of me. I spoke to the kids about the significance of cleaning their teeth and demonstrated to them how it is done,” he added.

To top it all off, the pupils received kiddie toothbrushes and toothpastes from

this dentist.
