Partially burnt body with stab wound discovered

LYDENBURG – The partially burnt body of a white male said to be between the age of 30 and 35 were discovered this morning at Flaaiban near Boshoek farm.

According to acting SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Elizabeth Mogoa, a cattle herder in the district stumbled upon the body in the early hours of this morning.

“The man saw the cattle gathering around a certain spot in the field. Upon closer inspection, the man came across the gruesome find. The body had a stab wound to the head and was still bleeding.”

Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon closer inspection, black/blue sneakers covered with blood were discovered about two kilometres from the scene.

“The victim was certified dead and taken to Lydenburg mortuary. The identity of the man is still unknown. A case of murder has been opened. No arrests have been made yet.”
